Harry Brook calls the Wellington hundred his “favourite” knock thus far in the NZ vs. ENG match.
According to Harry Brook, his favorite knock of his career to date was his counterattacking century in the Wellington Test. With 123 runs off 115 deliveries, Brook gave England the upper hand in the second Test.
It only took Brook 91 balls to reach his hundred.
The England batsman believed that the majority of the balls left the bat’s midsection.
This was Brook’s seventh career overseas hundred.
Harry Brook, an England batsman, saved his team from a collapse in the first innings and called his hundred in Wellington as his favorite. Before Brook made the decision to attack, England was 23 for 3 and then 43 for 4.
With 11 boundaries and five sixes in his innings, Brook reached his century in just 91 balls and finished with 123 off 115 deliveries. On Day 1, England would have the hosts reeling at 86 for 5 after scoring 280 runs in the first innings. According to Sky Sports, Brook told the press that he thoroughly appreciated his knock in Wellington.
In an aggressive batting style, the England batsman thought that the majority of the balls came out of the middle of the bat and applied pressure to the bowlers from New Zealand.
“I think that might be my favourite hundred so far, I enjoyed that one a lot,” Brook added.
“Most of the balls came out of the middle of the bat and it feels pretty special to be batting like that.”
“The pitch was struggling a lot when I arrived, and we were down three. I’m just happy I switched to offensive mode since it was seaming and swinging. I placed them under a lot of pressure and really took it to them.”
Attacking was the best defense strategy.
Brook stated that the greatest time for him to attack the hosts was when they were attempting to bowl at the stumps. The England batter was pleased to see it work and stated that attacking was his greatest defensive strategy.
“They had to try and bowl at the stumps early on and I felt like the time to run down was then; cash in when it’s full.”
“The best mode of defence for me was attack and thankfully it came off,” Brook remarked.
With an average of 91.5 while he is away from home, this was Brook’s seventh overseas hundred.
